Nepal has set a target of 107 runs in the first match of ICC Men's T20 World Cup underway in Dallas, America.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 106 runs losing all wickets in 19. 2 overs.
Captain Rohit Paudel made the highest 35 runs including five fours off 37 deliveries followed by Karan KC with 17 runs including two sixes and Gulsan Jha with 14 runs. Anil Sah hit 11 runs while the other batsmen could not achieve double-digit runs.
On the bowling side, Tim Pringle, Logan van Beek took three wickets each while Paul van Meekeren and Bas de Leede grabbed two wickets each for Netherlands.
Nepal will take on Sri Lanka on June 11. After having played two matches in Dallas, Nepal will fly to West Indies to play the other two matches.
According to the ICC schedule, Nepal will take on South Africa at St Vincent Cricket Stadium on June 14 and Bangladesh on June 16.
Nepal is in group ‘D’ alongside South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Netherlands. Nepali is participating in the World Cup match after a hiatus of 10 years.
