Following call with Prachanda, Modi says, 'We sustain positive momentum in bilateral ties'

Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have had a telephone conversation.

The conversation between the prime ministers of the two countries took place after the elections in India were completed and the final results were announced.

With the Lok Sabha election results, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party, BJP, has become the largest party, while the BJP-led coalition the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is almost certain to remain in power. According to the Lok Sabha election results, it has secured 293 seats, while Prime Minister Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 240 seats alone

On behalf of Nepal, Prime Minister Prachanda congratulated Modi on being elected as a member of Lok Sabha and wished him for future leadership of the government of India. In response, Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm wishes.

Following the telephone conversation with Prime Minister Prachanda, Prime Minister Modi wrote on X, "We reaffirmed our shared commitment to bolster the deep-rooted and multifaceted partnership between India and Nepal, and agreed to sustain the positive momentum in our relations."
