CPN (UML) leader and Member of Parliament (MP) Raghuji Panta has said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' should brief a meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on his recent official visit to India.
Speaking at the meeting of the HoR in Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar on Tuesday, MP Panta urged Speaker Devraj Ghimire to issue a ruling to this effect.
“Prime Minister Prachanda returned to Nepal after attending the swearing-in ceremony of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Sunday. I read out his statements spoken upon his arrival at the airport. Talking to media, the prime minister said the Nepal-India relation is cordial and friendly. However, the border dispute still exists. The EPG report is yet to be finalized. Other issues with India are still existing,” said Panta, urging the Speaker to issue a ruling to Prime Minister Dahal to inform the HoR about his India visit.
MP Panta said that the HoR meeting is the right place for the Prime Minister to express his views apart from the media. “The Speaker reserves the right to issue a ruling to the prime minister to this effect,” said Panta.
