The badly mangled bus after an accident.
Three people have died and around 10 others sustained injuries after a passenger bus rammed a truck parked on the roadside in Sarlahi district.
A speeding passenger bus rammed an Indian cargo truck parked at Rayamajhi Chowk in Bagmati Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway at 6 am today, informed Police Inspector of Area Police Office, Hariwan, Anil Giri.
"Three people were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in the road accident," said Giri, "Five passengers who sustained critical injuries have been sent to Birgunj for treatment. The other injured are being treated at local hospitals," said Giri.
According to Giri, the passenger bus, Lu 1 Kha 8848, heading to Janakpur from Bhairahawa rammed the truck, N L 011 S 9252, being parked on the roadside at Rayamajhi Chowk in Bagmati Municipality-1.
The deceased are Hari Bahadur Chaudhari, Dasharath Kuhar, 85, of Rupandehi, and Ram Karan Kewat, 50, of Mayadevi Rural Municipality-2, Rupandehi, Inspector Giri confirmed.
All the deceased were bus passengers. Around 41 passengers were traveling on the bus.
