Afghanistan has set a 57-run paltry target for South Africa in the first semifinals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup on Thursday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan notched up 56 runs at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad.
Azmatullah Omarzai made 10 runs including two fours off 12 runs for Afghanistan while the other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.
To restrict Afghanistan to such a low target, Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi took three wickets each while Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje claimed two wickets each for South Africa.
In a historic first for Afghanistan, it reached the ICC World Cup semi-final. However, South Africa, boasting its third appearance in the semis, proved too strong, dismantling the Afghan batting order with its lethal bowling.
