South Africa has defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets to reach the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first time in history.
Chasing the paltry 57-run target on Thursday, South Africa reached it in 8.5 overs losing one wicket.
Reeza Hendricks made the highest 29 runs including three fours and one six off 25 deliveries followed by captain Aiden Markram with 23 not out runs. Quinton de Kock contributed five runs.
In reply, Fazalhaq Farooqi took one wicket for Afghanistan.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad, Afghanistan notched up 56 runs.
Azmatullah Omarzai made 10 runs including two fours off 12 runs for Afghanistan while the other batsmen could not reach double-digit runs.
To restrict Afghanistan to such a low target, Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi took three wickets each while Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje claimed two wickets each for South Africa.
