India has set a 177-run target for South Africa in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup underway in West Indies on Saturday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, India notched up 176 runs losing seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Virat Kohli topped the score with six fours and two sixes off 59 balls followed by Axar Patel with 47 runs. Patel hit one four and four sixes of 31 deliveries.
Similarly, Shivam Dube contributed 27 runs including three fours and one six off 16 balls. The other batsmen could not achieve double-digit runs.
In reply, Keshav Maharaj and Anrich Nortje took two wickets each while Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada claimed one wicket each for South Africa.
India entered the final of the ICC World Cup by defeating England by 68 runs. Similarly, South Africa entered the final by defeating Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the semifinal of the ICC World Cup.
