Seventeen Nepalis and seven Indian nationals were traveling in the passenger bus that was swept away by a landslide at Simaltal in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 on the Narayangadh-Muglin road setion on Friday morning.
“There were 17 Nepalis and seven Indian nationals in the passenger bus that fell into Trishuli around 3:30 am,” said Prem Shah Kanu, the booking in-charge of the Angel Deluxe Birgunj counter, told Nepalkhabar.
A total of 24 passengers from Birgunj and India were traveling in Angel Deluxe bus, Bagmati Province, 3006 Ba 1516, which was heading to Kathmandu.
There were nine passengers from Rangapur in Parsa, 12 people including Indians and one driver and two co-drivers from Birgunj Bus Park in Angel Deluxe bus, according to Kanu.
"Yesterday we booked the vehicle and sent it from Birgunj to Kathmandu at 8 pm. Today at 4 in the morning, I was informed about the accident,” he said, “We are calling everyone in the bus, including the driver, whose phones are ringing but without responses, we are stunned by this incident.”
Kanu said that the driver is a resident of Nagawa in Birgunj, while the details about the others are being taken.
On the other hand, Ganapati Deluxe, which was going to Gaur from Kathmandu, was also swept away by the landslide.
