Nepal has been defeated by Namibia by 8 wickets in the match held under the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 in Utrecht, Netherlands today.
Chasing a meagre target of 158 runs set by Nepal, Namibia reached it in 160 runs in 37.4 overs, at the loss of only 2 wickets.
Jan Frylinck top scored for Namibia, with 78 runs in 89 balls (n.o.) followed by opener Michael van Lingen who contributed 51 runs while Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton remained not out with 17 runs in 39 balls.
For Nepal, captain Rohit Paudel and Nandan Yadav took one wicket each.
Earlier, opting to bowl first, Namibia bowled out Nepal for 157 runs in 46.5 overs.
Only Captain Rohit Paudel and Dipendra Singh Airee were able to make some notable contribution with 31 and 30 runs respectively. Gulshan Jha scored 20 runs while Karan KC contributed 18 runs and Aasif Sheikh 16 runs. Others could not reach double figures.
For the bowling side, JJ Smit took 6 wickets in 9.5 overs while Jack Brassell and Bernard Scholtz took 2 wickets a piece.
Nepal will now play against host the Netherlands at the same venue on coming Thursday.
