Passengers ran in panic and the incident site drew a large throng of commuters when a passenger bus plying along the New Baneshwar route suddenly belched out a thick cloud of smoke on Thursday morning, the police said.
According to the District Police Office, Kathmandu, the passengers ran in panic when the public bus, Province 3 01 005 Kha 9454, coming to Kathmandu from Bhaktapur, produced a large mass of smoke around 10: 30 am.

It suddenly began spewing a large amount of smoke, forcing passengers to evacuate the vehicle.
According to an eyewitness, the smoke continued billowing out of the vehicle undeterred even after the driver closed the engine.
The smoke now has stopped coming out of the bus and it has turned into normal, the police said.
