Mother, son killed, 28 injured as school bus plunges 50 meters in Pokhara

A school bus met with an accident in Pokhara.

A mother and son died in a school bus accident that occurred in Pokhara on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Arati BK, office assistant of LP Devkota Memorial School, and her six-year-old son Prince BK.

Arati got onto to the bus with her son to take care of other students.

The doctor pronounced the mother dead at 9:41 am while the son died an hour later at 10:45 am, police said.

Kaski Police Spokesperson, DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma informed that the accident occurred when the bus, Ga 1 Ka 6219, carrying students, fell some 50 meters down the inner road called Gudku of Pokhara-21 around 9:30 am.

A total of 30 people were traveling in the bus including the driver. The remaining students sustained injuries.

According to the police, they are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Pokhara.
