The court has demanded a bail of Rs 300,000 from self-proclaimed ascetic Ram Bahadur Bomjon in the case of making a person disappear.
Hearing on the person’s disappearance case, a single bench of Sindhupalchowk District Judge Bhagawati Sharma Dhungana on Monday sought a bail of Rs 300,000 from Bomjom, informed district government attorney, Urmila Dahal.
Bir Bahadur Rumba had filed a complaint at the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk claiming that Bomjon made his daughter Phulmaya Rumba disappear.
The government attorney had on Sunday (July 29) filed a case after the police finished the investigation into the case. However, the defendant should not submit the bail immediately as he is serving a jail-term for another offense, as well, the attorney said.
The District Court, Sarlahi on July 1 had announced a verdict, sentencing Bomjom to 10 years in jail along with a fine of Rs 500,000 in a child sexual abuse case. Following the verdict, Bomjon has been taken to a prison in Sindhupalchowk.
