CAVA Nations League: Nepal loses to Iran (photos)

Nepal lost to Iran in the third match of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women's Nations League held today.

This is the first defeat ever faced by Nepal in the ongoing CAVA Nations League.

Earlier, Nepal defeated Sri Lanka in the first match and trounced India in the second match. Iran defeated Nepal 3-2 in today's match.

Nepal faced a defeat 16-25 to Iran in the first set, won the second set 25-16, and lost to Iran 25-23 in the third set. Nepal equalized the match winning the fourth set 25-15. Unfortunately, Iran defeated Nepal 15-13 in the fifth set.

With the win, Iran has notched up seven points from four matches. Nepal has six points from three matches.

Nepal has already reached the semifinals. Along with Nepal, Iran, India, and Sri Lanka have reached the semifinals.

In the last match of the league, India will take on Sri Lanka at 3 pm and Nepal will face Maldives at 5 pm on Monday.

India is atop the points table with seven points followed by Iran with equal points. Nepal is in the third position with six points while Sri Lanka is ranked fourth with four points.

In the semifinals, the top team in the league will meet the fourth-placed team, and the second-placed team will play the third-placed team.
