A person died and six others sustained injuries when a jeep, Ra 1 Ja 770, heading to Salyan from Tulsipur met with an accident at Shantinagar Rural Municipality-1, Handichar in Dang district on Sunday evening.
The deceased has been identified as 46-year-old Yam Bahadur KC, 46, of Tribeni Rural Municipality-3, Todke, the District Police Office, Dang said.
Two among the six critically injured have been ferried to Nepalgunj for treatment, according to DSP Ram Prasad Timilsina, the spokesperson of the DPO, Dang. Parwati KC of Tribeni-3, Salyan and Sarita Khadka of Tribeni Rural Municipality -3, Rukum West Salyan are undergoing treatment at Nepalgunj Nursing Home, the police said.
The other injured are Aisharya KC, 45, Rekha Wali, 34, Rojika Wali, 31, of Tribeni-3, Salyan, and Lila Bastola, 24, of Madhyanepal Municipality-7, Lamjung.
Those who sustained minor injuries are undergoing treatment at Rapti Province Hospital in Tulsipur. The jeep driver is at large following the accident.
