A major breakthrough has been achieved in the construction of the Dhedre Tunnel Highway under the Kathmandu-Terai Fast-Track.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli who reached the construction site this morning announced the break-through of the 1,728-meter-long Dhedre Tunnel Highway.
This tunnel is being constructed by Poly Chhyangda Company of China. It is located in Bakaiya Rural Municipality of Makwanpur.
With the breakthrough of this tunnel, all the tunnels under the package number 2 have been constructed.
Two tunnels at Lendanda and one along Nijgadh-Kathmandu Expressway have been already constructed.
Of the total six tunnels, two tunnels including the longest Mahadevtar Tunnel (3,468 meters) are under the construction.
In average, 35.38 percent of the construction work has been completed.
The government had on May 4, 2017 entrusted Nepali Army to carry out the construction work of Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track.
