Nepal has trounced Maldives in the final match of the CAVA Women’s Nations Volleyball League held in Tripureshwar in Kathmandu on Monday.
In the final league match held in the covered hall of the National Sports Council, Nepal clinched a win over Maldives 3-0 in straight sets.
Nepal clinched a win over Maldives with 25-8 in the first set, 25-19 in the second set, and 25-18 in the third set.
Earlier, Nepal defeated Sri Lanka and India but lost to Iran. Nepal will take on Iran in the semi-final. Iran remained third position in the points tally.
Nepali team coach Jagadish Bhatta expressed confidence that Nepal will set its journey toward achieving the title by defeating Iran in the semifinals.
Nepal team captain Aruna Shahi expressed confidence that her team will excel in the match against Iran by overcoming their shortcomings.
In the next semifinals, India and Sri Lanka will their lock horns. India is atop the points tally following by Nepal, while Iran and Sri Lanka are in the third and fourth positions, respectively.
India will take on Sri Lanka at 3 pm in the first semi-finals while the match between Nepal and Iran will kick off at 5:15 pm in the second semi-finals in the covered hall in Tripureshwar on Tuesday.
