Two people have died apparently of asphyxiation while cleaning a well in Tulsipur of Dang district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Mukesh BK, 16, and Yam Bahadur Nepali, 38, of Tulsipur Sub Metropolitan City-13, Damar village, informed DSP Ram Prasad Timalsina, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Dang.

They had gone down into the well belonging to Durga BK, a local.

“After finding them unconscious inside the well, they were rushed to Rapti Provincial Hospital after rescue. But they were pronounced dead by the doctor,” DSP Timalsina told Nepalkhabar.

Such incidents often happen especially due to asphyxiation inside the well, said DSP Timalsina, “We are investigation the case whether they themselves went into the well or someone forced them to go down it.”

Critically injured Mukesh and Yam passed away in the course of treatment in the hospital at 11 am. They were workers, according to Timalsina.
