The monsoon winds have widespread effects throughout the country with a monsoon low-pressure around the usual position in the west and slightly toward the north in the eastern direction, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said.
The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country at present. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is taking place at a few places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces and one or two places of the rest of the provinces.
According to the Department, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country this afternoon. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in some places of all the provinces.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at a few places in Koshi, Madhesh and Sudurpaschim provinces and one or two places in the rest of the provinces.
Similarly, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country tonight with chances of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at some places of all the provinces.
Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at one or two places of Koshi and Madhesh provinces. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in a few places of the province in the next 24 hours.
Given possible heavy rainfall in some places of Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces, the Department has urged the general public of these areas to adopt precautionary safety measures.
