Security personnel carrying out rescue works for the missing people in the landsldide in Doramba-Shailung Rural Municipality-3, Ramechhap on Sunday.
The bodies of six people, including an infant, among those who went missing in a landslide in Doramba-Shailung Rural Municipality-3 Lekkharka, Ramechhap, have been recovered.
The bodies of 30-year-old Chandika Shrestha and her 18-month-old son Amus Shrestha, 57-year-old Urmila Pahari, 30-year-old Sanjeev Pahari, 11-year-old Santosh Pahari and 11-year-old Bigyan Pahari were retrieved from the incident site.
"We have recovered the bodies of six people missing in the landslide," Inspector Kaushal Neupane, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Ramechhap, told Nepalkhabar, "Some people are still missing in the landslide. The search is underway."
He said that, aside from Chandika's mother and son, the relationship of the four people who died in the landslide is yet to be established.
"It is not certain whether they belong to the same house or different families," he added.
Five houses in Lekkharka were washed away in a landslide at 3:30 am today.
Ramechhap Chief District Officer Anita Niraula, Police Chief DSP Pradeep Kumar Singh, Rural Municipality Chairman Mainkumar Moktan are still at the incident.
A landslide has washed away four houses and partially damaged another house.
