Kirat Sirijanga Alphabet released

The script of the indigenous Limbu, 'Kirat Sirijanga Alphabet' has been released. The alphabet developed by Yakthung Yuva Chumlung (Yakthung Youth Forum) Nepal was launched on the occasion of the opening of its 3rd Central Council meeting today.

Central Chairman of Yakthung Youth Forum Rajendra Idhingo, adviser Madhuraj Kerung, Chumlung Provincial Adviser Yam Yonghang, Chumlung among others jointly announced the alphabet.

Idhingo, chair of the forum, said that the publication of the alphabet is a new history for the Limbu community.

"For the promotion and development of the Kirat Sirijanga script, we have prepared the alphabet for the first time," said chair Idhingo, adding, "We have created a new history in language and script preservation." (RSS)
