Three die of asphyxiation during septic tank construction in Nawalpur

Three people have died of asphyxiation while constructing a septic tank in Binayi Rural Municipality-7, Raninagar in Nawalpur.

They died of asphyxiation while constructing the septic tank of the house on Friday afternoon.

The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Prakash Singh Chhetri, son of the landowner, 19-year-old Ganesh Bogati, a neighbor, and Mohammad Raja, 28, of Bardaghat Municipality-7, West Nawalparasi.

SP Narahari Regmi of the District Police Office, Nawalpur, said, “Three people died apparently of asphyxiation while working in the under-construction septic tank at Raninagar in Bardaghat Municipality-7.”

Critically injured Singh, Bogati and Mohammad died in the course of treatment, he said.

“The septic was under construction. Three workers were working inside the septic tank. They fell unconscious. When they were taken to the hospital, they were pronounced dead by the doctors,” SP Regmi told Nepalkhabar.

Prakash passed away in the course of treatment at District Hospital Parasi (Prithvi Chandra Hospital) while Bogati and Mohammad breathed their last while being treated at Bhim Hospital, Bhairahawa.
