Facebook has removed the status about CPN (UML) province lawmaker Rekha Sharma posted by Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Balendra Shah.

Mayor Shah posted a Facebook status questioning the government’s intention behind not arresting Sharma who took a child captive for last eight years.

Balen in the status objected saying that his request to the government to take action against Sharma has fallen on deaf years.

This status is not on the Facebook wall, now. It has been removed by Facebook, not by them, Balen’s Secretariat has said.

“The status has been removed by Facebook following complaints. Mayor Balen has not removed it. Efforts are being made to recover it,” press coordinator Sudendra Bajgain said.

Expressing exception to the status, Samik Badal, the president of ANNFSU, the student’s wing of UML, said, “Mayor Balen has been hoodwinking Nepali people at the behest of khufiya agencies.

Ridiculing Badal’s status, Balen urged UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli to recruit his cadres into politics only after providing them general knowledge and orientation.
