Baglung flood death toll climbs to 3

The body of 20-year-old Kamal Sapkota of Bandre Adhaithar, Baglung Municipality-4, who had gone missing in the swollen Bandrekhola rivulet, has been retrieved.

With this, the number of people killed in the floods in Baglung has reached three. Sapkota's body was found 500 meters from the incident site, said Sub-Inspector Pratap Poudel at the District Police Office.

In the incident that took place at 12 midnight on Thursday, a motorcycle (Dha. 2 Pa. 8010) and a scooter (Dha. 1 Pa. 9996), were swept away. Arjun Sapkota, 23, and Abhishek Regmi, 22, of Baglung-4 died in the incident while 20-year-old Kamal Sapkota had gone missing. The scooter and motorcycle were heading toward Malika from Kudule at the time of the incident.

The bodies of Arjun and Abhishek were recovered about 200 meters downstream of the river last night.

Kamal Sapkota's body has been taken to the Dhaulagiri Hospital for a post-mortem.
