Maoist leader Pun's health condition improves, set to return home in a week

The health condition of CPN (Maoist Center) Deputy General Secretary Barsha Man Pun has improved.

He is said to return to Nepal within a week with the improvement in his health.

Pun left for China on December 2 for follow-up treatment after he suffered health complications.

Suffering from Crigler-Najjar syndrome type 2 condition, he went to China in consultation with a doctor .

He is undergoing treatment under quarantine at Shenzhen No.3 People's Hospital.

"His health has improved," Pun's family source said, "With improvement in his health, we are preparing to return to Nepal within a week."

Pun's spouse Onsari Gharti Magar, who is also the former Speaker and Standing Committee member of the Maoist Center, accompanied the ailing leader to China.

The Maoist Center deputy general secretary had been treated in the same hospital a year ago as well.
