The government has decided to scrap the National Cooperative Development Board (NCDB).

A cabinet meeting convened on Tuesday decided to scrap the NCBD and form a commission to regulate entire cooperatives through an ordinance, a minister privy to the meeting told Nepalkhabar.

The Commission will have a chairman, secretary and members according to the ordinance. The ordinance will come into force once it is issued by the President and published in the national gazette.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting also appointed members to the vacant posts of the National Sports Council (NSC).

Eight posts were lying vacant in the NSC, the minister said.
