The second edition of the 'Nepal-China Friendly Dragon Boat Race Festival' has begun in Pokhara with the aim of promoting Nepal's tourism by strengthening cultural and people-to-people relations between Nepal and neighboring China.
Players from Nepal, China and Singapore participated in the festival that began on Sunday at Pokhara's main tourist destination, Phewa Lake. The competition will continue until tomorrow.

Twenty teams are participating in the competition, jointly organized by the Gandaki Province Government, Pokhara Metropolitan City, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and the Nepal Tourism Board. Eight teams from China, one from Singapore and the remaining 11 teams from different parts of Nepal have participated in the competition.
The winning team of the 500-meter and 200-meter races will be awarded US$5,000, the runner-up will be awarded US$2,000 and the third-place team will be awarded US$1,200.
