Main opposition CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', has said that he found it hard to distinguish between brokers and communist leaders, hinting at a significant level of corruption within both groups.
Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda said this while presenting a political dossier in a central committee meeting of the party at Paris Danda in Kathmandu on Sunday.
"It has become difficult to distinguish between the brokers, bureaucratic class and communist leaders," Prachanda said in the CC meeting that started on Sunday. "We have become corrupt in some ways."
Stressing the importance of personal transformation as a prerequisite for seeking transformation in others, Prachanda directed the CC members to submit their property details with their valid sources by February 13.
He further said that the party cannot move ahead in the status quo and asked the Maoist Center leaders to refrain from factionalism. "The party cannot move ahead from the existing gridlock of factionalism," said Prachanda,"It is detrimental to involve in factionalism and anarchism."
He claimed that the Maoist Center has been able to gain people's favor due to the positive initiatives undertaken by him while at the helm.
"We undertook constructive initiatives in favor of good governance while at the helm of the government. We played roles in favor of economic growth, prosperity and stability. Now is the time to build on this success for the organizational development of the party," said Prachanda.
Prachanda further said the regressive forces do not want to see the unity and growth in Maoist Center. "We have to move ahead by removing all these hurdles. There is no alternative to the unification of the party."
