The Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) Academy, in collaboration with the Nepal Esports Association (NESA), organized a training program titled "Know Your Games" to educate Nepali sports journalists about the rapidly growing world of esports.
Held on International Day of Education, the program aimed to bridge the gap between traditional sports media and the competitive gaming industry.
Thirty sports journalists from leading Nepali media outlets participated in the training at the Blue Star Complex, Thapathali.
NSJF Academy Chairperson Niranjan Rajbanshi emphasized the importance of understanding esports, stating, "Esports is no longer just entertainment; it is a serious industry with immense potential for Nepal."
NESA President Suraj Dangol provided insights into the global and local esports landscape, highlighting Nepal's potential in the international esports ecosystem.
Similarly, Nepal's IESF-certified referees, Arun Mishra and Saujanya Shrestha, offered technical insights into esports formats, scoring systems, and competitive gaming structures.
The "Know Your Games" initiative aims to train journalists on various sports, ensuring accurate and insightful sports reporting.
