Body found in the Trishuli River identified as missing Rohit  Rana

The body found in the Trishuli River has been identified as Rohit Rana who had gone missing in the river following a motorcycle nine days ago.

The body was found on the bank of the Trishuli River at Kalikhola in Ichchha Kamana Rural Municipality-5 in Chitwan this morning.

"When the body was recovered from the river and examined, the family confirmed it was the body of Rohit," informed Police Inspector Laxman KC of the District Police Office, Chitwan. Ashok Rana, the father of Rohit, along with other family members, had also arrived at the site where the body was found. After the body was retrieved from the river, it was confirmed to be Rohit's, according to Police Inspector KC.

Rohit Rana, 27, a permanent resident of Chandreshwar, Sundar Bazar Rural Municipality-3, Lamjung, met with an accident on February 14 (Falgun 2), while traveling from Narayangadh to Kathmandu on a motorcycle, Bagmati Province 06-02 Pa 9204. The accident occurred at around 11:30 AM at Chattanibhir in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-5, Chitwan.

Rohit had fallen into the Trishuli River and gone missing after his motorcycle hit a divider. His Royal Enfield motorcycle was found on the road. Rana, who was serving in the Indian Army as a Gorkha rifleman, had arrived in Nepal only a week before the accident.

Police Inspector KC informed that Rana's body has been taken to Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan for a post-mortem.
