Actor Dayahang Rai has doubled his wage of late.

Rai, who has given 3 consecutive hits at the box office in one year, is said to have doubled his wage from the latest film he signed.

Rai-starrer 'Kabaddi 4', 'Dui Nambari' and 'Ke Ghar Ke Dera' saw grand success at the box office.

The actor, who performs at the theatre as well as the silver screen, has been signing one film after another.

There is a long list of producers willing to work with Rai, lured by his acting and the success he brings to movies.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Rai has increased his fees of late.

Besides expanding his stardom, Rai has also contributed to the box office at a time when the appeal of Nepali films among the audiences was fading.

Having signed 'Hattichhap' recently, there are talks that Rai's pay has nearly doubled in the film.

Producer of 'Hattichhap' Kiran Nepali revealed that he signed Rai for the movie with an attractive remuneration. However, producer Nepali did not disclose the amount paid to the actor.

If talks in the market are anything to go by, then Rai is getting Rs 3 million from 'Hattichhap'.

On the issue of increased wage, Rai commented that high wages were content-dependent. "If the film is going to achieve good commercial success, wage has to be determined accordingly. However, when content is better, compromise must be done a few things."
