A meeting held between the government and Nepal LP Gas Industry Association on Tuesday decided to increase the cooking gas prices.
The representatives of the government and the Association agreed to hike Rs 12.75 per cylinder in a five-point agreement reached today, Krishna Bhakta Shrestha, the senior vice chairman of Nepal LP Gas Industry Association told Nepalkhabar.
Following the five-point agreement, the agitating Association has also withdrawn its protest.
Commerce and Supply Secretary Govinda Bahadur Karki participated in the meeting on behalf of the government.
With the new price adjustment, the price of cooking gas has now reached Rs 1,922.75 per cylinder.
Earlier, it was priced at Rs 1,910 per cylinder.
