Ruling major parties Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) formed an alliance for the elections of Nepal Bar Association (NBA).
According to the agreement, Bijaya Mishra of Democratic Lawyers Association (DLA) will file nomination for the post of chairman of the Nepal Bar Association while Kedar Koirala of the Progressive and Professional Lawyers Association (PPLA), for the post of general secretary.
Mishra is the former general secretary of the Nepal Bar.
The elections to be held on April 5 will elect a 25-memebr working committee.
Candidates are filing nominations from 11 am to 3 pm today, the Election Committee has said.

Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have formed a separate electoral panel for the elections.
According to the panel, Raman Shrestha, who is considred close to Maoist Center, has filed nomination for the post of chairman with senior advocate Shambhu Shrestha as proposer and Sushil Pant as seconder.
Similarly, Yagyamani Neupane, who is considered close to RSP, has filed for the post of general secretary.
