The under-construction overpass in Gwarko, Lalitpur, has encountered design flaws, causing losses for the company and additional woes to commuters.
As a result, the contracting company had to demolish and rebuild the flyover due to the design errors, even after having designed and commenced work.
Although construction began in January 2022, design errors have caused distress for passengers and losses for the construction company.
In less than a month after the construction started, the overpass's design had to be altered.
The work which started two years ago in January was halted in February. Prolonged delays in finalizing the design impeded construction progress. The project has a contract agreement of Rs 170.6 million.
The flyover is being constructed by a joint venture of Ashish-Samanantar-Religare JV, with Religare Construction handling most of the work, under the "Design and Build" (EPC) model.
