Students affiliated to All Nepal National Free Student Unions (ANNFSU) close to CPN (Unified Socialist) have staged a demonstration against the removal of the managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Kulman Ghising.
The irate students burnt an effigy of Energy Minister Deepak Khadka in front of Bishwa Bhasha Campus in Kathmandu on the Exhibition Road this morning.
The cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday evening decided to relieve Managing Director Ghising of his post.
The government's decision to oust Ghising has drawn criticisms from all quarters.
