Two different demonstrations are taking place in Kathmandu. The Socialist Front including CPN (Maoist Center) and royalists are staging separate demonstrations in the federal capital on Friday.
The Socialist Front is organizing its demonstration at Bhrikuti Mandap while royalists are organizing their program at Tinkune, the District Administration, Kathmandu said.
Both the Socialist Front and royalists have started their demonstrations after Secondary Education Exam (SEE) scheduled to end at 11 AM. The Socialist Front is staging demonstrations in defense of the incumbent federal democratic republic while royalists are staging demonstrations in favor of monarchy.

The Socialist Front took out rallies from, Sohrakhutte, Kupandole, Tripureshwar and Maitighar, and eventually converged into a mass meeting at Bhrikuti Mandap. The program is scheduled to start at 1 pm
The CPN (Maoist Center), the Nepal Communist Party led by Netra Bikram Chand, Nepal Samajbadi Party, and CPN (Unified Socialist) are participating in the rally.

Likewise, the royalists are staging a demonstration at Tinkune under the leadership of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai. Pro-monarchs including the cadres of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) are rendering support to this demonstration. The rally of the royalists started from Sinamangal area and Bhaktapur area.
The security situation has been tightened in the capital. The government has deployed around over 5,000 security personnel to preempt any untoward incidents and possible clashes between the two groups.
