A curfew has been clamped in the area from Shantinagar to Jadibuti in Kathmandu after royalists ran amok vandalizing public properties including private houses.
"The curfew has been clamped in the area from Shantinagar to Jadibuti in view of security until 10 pm today," Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Rishiram Tiwari, told Nepalkhabr.
The press note regarding the curfew will be made public in a while, said CDO Tiwari.
Pro-monarch demonstrators have vandalized the glass of a business house and set a fire to another one at Tinkune in Kathmandu on Friday. The irate royalists also vandalized the office building of Annapurna Post. A fire engine has been used to douse the fire at Tinkune. So much so that the fire engine was also attacked by the protestors with stones.

The situation took a nasty turn after the vehicle which was escorting Durga Prasai's vehicle entered the restricted zone and the demonstrators started attacking security personnel rather than going to the program venue designated by the Kathmandu District Administration.
In response, the police have fired tear gas shells, used water cannons and even resorted to aerial firing to bring the situation under control. Now, security personnel have taken Tinkune under control and dispersed the protestors from the program venue.
