The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is organizing a large-scale awareness rally at Balkhu in Kathmandu. With the rally being organized by the RPP, security situations have been tightened in the area, with the deployment of a large number of security personnel.
The security situations have been beefed up in view of the March 28 Tinkune demonstration led by controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
The heads of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department had held a meeting on how security conditions could be tightened on Monday.
The RPP has said that the rally to be organized at Balkhu will be peaceful. However, the rally held at Tinkune, despite an announcement that it would be peaceful, went unruly.
The security personnel used forces after the protestors started vandalism and arson attacks that left two individuals dead.
