Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, has tendered her resignation from her post.
The Prime Minister's Secretariat has informed Nepalkhabar that Education Minister Bhattarai submitted her resignation letter after meeting Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Minister Bhattarai has put in paper amist the intensifying teachers' protest.
To address the teachers' demands, Minister Bhattarai had prepared a seven-point proposal. The proposal was to be presented in the Cabinet meeting, and preparations were underway to call on the protesting teachers to withdraw their agitation today itself.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli has urged the agitating teachers to immediately sit for talks and end their movement, stating that the students and parents suffered due to the teachers' movement and it was also not benefiting the teachers as well.
A Cabinet meeting was scheduled for 5 PM today.
