Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut has left for the United Kingdom (UK) for a 10-day official visit.
Chief Justice Raut, along with Supreme Court Registrar Bimal Paudel, left for the UK from Tribhuvan International Airport on a Turkish Airlines flight. Their transit point is Istanbul, Turkey.
The delegation includes Supreme Court Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal, Special Court Judge Ritendra Thapa, and Patan High Court Judge Hemanta Rawal. Phuyal, Thapa, and Rawal are traveling to London via New Delhi, India, on an Air India flight.
This visit is taking place at the invitation of the British government for a formal tour of the UK Supreme Court and other judicial institutions, as well as to expand bilateral relations, according to Supreme Court spokesperson Achyut Kunikel.
Chief Justice Raut will return home on May 6.
