A person died six others sustained injuries when a vehicle met with an accident in Doti district on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred when a Hyundai vehicle (Sudurpashchim Province 02 001 Ja 0567) lost control and plunged approximately 60 meters off the road near Melkhola in Jorayal Rural Municipality-2 at around 11:30 PM.
The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Harka Bahadur Negi, a resident of Dilashaini Rural Municipality-4 in Baitadi district.
Negi, who sustained critical injuries in the crash, was rushed to Mayametro Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment but was declared dead upon arrival.
Six other injured passengers, including the driver, are currently receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.
Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident. The vehicle was heading to Baitadi from Dhangadhi when the accident occurred.
Local police said they are carrying out further investigation into the incident.
