Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) patron Resham Chaudhary has been released from Dillibazar prison.

Chaudhary was released in accordance with the Supreme Court's letter (with Ref. No. 1687) which ordered the release of Resham Chaudhary, and not to implement the previous letter (with Ref. 19277).

After five hours at Dillibazar Sadar Khor, Resham was released into the custody of his father, Lalbir Chaudhary, and his spouse, Ranjita Chaudhary, according to jailer Balaram Aryal.

Chaudhary was taken under control from the premises of Nepal Academy this afternoon in line with the arrest warrant issued to Resham Chaudhary by Mahiman Singh Bista, a section office at the Supreme Court. However, it was later discovered that the arrest warrant was unofficial.

No sooner Chaudhary reached the premises of Nepal Academy, than a police team arrested him and took him to the Dillibazar prison.

He was arrested from the Nepal Academy premises at a time when he was going to to attend a party unification program between Nagarik Unmukti Party and Janamat Party this afternoon.

Police have arrested Mahiman Singh Bista, a section office at the Supreme Court, for issuing the arrest warrant to Chaudhary. Bista wrote the warrant on his own discretion, an official at the Supreme Court has said.

Bista has been arrested and sent to the District Police Range, Kathmandu for a necessary action.
