Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the workers to remain vigilant against those who dream of bringing back the overthrown autocratic monarchy and carrying out anarchic and intolerant activities.

At a program organized by the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions (GEFONT) here today on the occasion of the 136th International Workers' Day, Prime Minister Oli, who is also the Chair of the CPN (UML), urged the working class which has always contributed to political change and awareness in the country to unite and work instead for achieving the set goals and aspirations of progression.

Stating that the current government was striving for a bright future with the national aspiration of 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis', the Prime Minister said that the democratic system established through sacrifices of many should be protected.

"The anarchy of the supporters of the overthrown monarchy was clearly seen in the violent incident that took place at Tinkune of Kathmandu. Monarchists who behave intolerantly, such as not watching films of artists who do not praise them, are trying to raise their heads. They have challenged our civilization and culture. We must be able to respond to them," Prime Minister Oli said. "The working class should be aware of this as in the past."

UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal, among others, expressed their views at the program.
