COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev is set to arrive in Nepal to participate in Sagarmatha Dialogue.
Babayev, who is also the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, has accepted the invitation to participate in this global conference being organized by the Government of Nepal. The conference is scheduled to take place from May 16 to 18.
According to a source from the Embassy of Azerbaijan in New Delhi, Babayev will lead a five-member delegation to Nepal.
A delegation led by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov is already in Kathmandu. During a meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Minister Mammadov confirmed Azerbaijan’s participation in the Sagarmatha Dialogue.
Babayev will address the opening session of the Sagarmatha Dialogue. He will arrive in Nepal on May 15 and depart on May 18.
During his Nepal stay, he is scheduled to hold courtesy meetings separately with President Ramchandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, and Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi, the Foreign Ministry said.
