The rains amidst thunderstorms have occurred in many places of Gandaki Province, and a few places of Lumbini, Bagmai and Koshi rovinces on Saturday night.

The Kathmandu Valley and its surrounding areas received rain last night and it is still occurring in some part of the Valley.

The vapor-rich cloud is gradually surging to the east from west, making it possible for rains to occur amidst thunderstorms in the east, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has said.

The light to moderate rain amidst thunderstorms is likely to occur in some parts of Gandaki, Bagmati, Koshi and in a few places of Madhesh Province, according to a weather bulletin issued by the Division on Sunday morning.

Similarly, light to moderate rains amidst thunderstorms will occur in some hilly areas of the country including Koshi Province and in a few places of the country. Light snowfall is expected in highly hilly and mountainous areas of the country today, according to the Division.

Currently, westerly and local winds compounded by vapour-rich winds are getting active, causing rainfall in the country, the Division has said.
