Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has noted that China's support to Nepal's developmental endeavors was 'commendable'.

Leader Deuba, also former Prime Minister, delivered these remarks at the inaugural event of a photo exhibition organized by GP Koirala Foundation on Monday on the occasion of establishment of 70 years of diplomatic ties between Nepal and China.

Stating that collaboration between Nepal and China culturally, economically and socially was historic and strong, Deuba extended gratitude towards the Chinese government for its support to Nepal in the areas of development of infrastructures, promotion of trade, tourism, culture, education, climate actions among others.

He expressed his confidence that China's cooperation would be further increased in the coming days. "I am confident that the photo exhibition would help further strengthen collaboration with China and take the ties between the two countries at people-to-people to a new height," the leader asserted.

The event would also contribute to fostering the feelings of collaboration and consensus among the people between the two countries, he said.

On the occasion, the former Prime Minister reaffirmed Nepal's unflinching commitment towards "One-China" policy and assured that Nepal would not allow any anti-China activities on its soil.

Likewise, NC leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala, acknowledging the Chinese government's support to Nepal in its developmental endeavors, noted that the friendly ties between Nepal and China were exemplary.

Highlighting Nepal's commitment towards ''One-China'' policy, he mentioned that Nepal has been prioritizing China's concerns in its foreign policy.

On the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song said that China-Nepal relations are progressing on the basis of mutual cooperation and friendship, with cooperating in various fields including economy and trade. Bilateral relations are further deepening due to high-level visits from both countries.

GP Koirala Foundation Chairperson and Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala expressed her belief that the photo exhibition would further strengthen relations between Nepal and China.

Historical moments, visits and cultural exchanges of heads of state, close people-to-people relations during seven decades of Nepal-China diplomatic relations have been showcased in the exhibition.
