India has carried out a targeted military operation, Operation Sindoor, against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan following the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
Issuing a press note on Wednesday, Foreign Secretary of India Vikram Misri stated that the action was "measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible," aimed at dismantling terror networks planning further cross-border strikes.
"Despite a fortnight since the attack, Pakistan has taken no action against the perpetrators," Misri said, accusing Pakistan of sheltering UN-proscribed groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The operation comes after India shared evidence linking the attack to Pakistan-based militants with the UN.
Colonel Sofia Quareshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh provided operational details, emphasizing the mission’s precision. The move follows global calls, including a UN Security Council statement, to hold the attackers accountable.
Pakistan has yet to respond to the operation.
