ICC WC League 2: Nepali team bidden adieu ahead of tri-series battle

A Nepali cricket team, which is set to play a tri-series under the ICC World Cup League 2 to be held in Scotland, has been bidden adieu.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) bade farewell to the team by organizing a program today.

Nepal will play five matches in UK before heading to Scotland to play triangular series.  During the Rhinos Tour of UK, Nepal will play ODI and T-20 series.

Nepal will play an ODI match with Cardiff University on Friday. The match will be held in Cardiff. Similarly, it will play against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in Herefordshire on May 19.

Similarly, it will play two T20 matches with Gloucestershire on May 22 and an ODI with Glamorgan on May 26.

After playing ODI and T20 matches, the Nepali team will fly to Scotland. Prior to playing series, Nepal will play two practice matches with Scotland A.

Following the practice matches, Nepal will begin a triangular series with an inaugural match with Scotland on June 2. Similarly, it will play the second match with Netherlands on June 4 and third match against Scotlandland on June 8 and fourth match with Netherlands on June 10.

Once the tri-series matches come to an end, the Nepali team will play T20 series with Scotland and Netherlands.

The CAN finalized the Nepali cricket squad under the captainship of Rohit Paudel on Staurday. Upendra Singh Airee was announced as the vice-captain of the team.

Nepali team: Rohit Paudel (captain), Deependra Singh Airee (vice-captain), Aashif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Anil Sah, Bhim Sarki, Aarif Sheikh, Basir Ahmad, Gulsan Jha, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Nandan Yadav and Rijan Dhakal.

T20I Series (additional players): Kiran Thagunna, Lokesh Bam and Rupesh Singh.
