Nepali Congress (NC) has directed to complete all tasks related to the renewal of active memberships by mid-July. A meeting of the Active Membership Management Committee held on Wednesday instructed the district working committees to complete the renewal of active memberships by mid-July.
The Active Membership Management Committee, led by General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, includes central members Sita Gurung, Yogendra Chaudhary, and Prakash Rasaili.
Earlier, the renewal of active memberships was supposed to be completed by mid-April. Since it was not completed by that deadline, another deadline was set for the April-end. As the issue of active membership renewal remained unresolved in most districts, a new deadline has been set for mid-July.
NC has stated that the renewal process has been completed in most districts, ranging from 30 to 60 percent. Committee member Prakash Rasaili mentioned that all subordinate committees with pending renewals have been instructed to complete them by mid-July.
"The renewal process must be completed by mid-July. If the renewal is not done within this period, the system will be closed," he said. "After that, the renewal process will not be possible." He added that once the renewal process is completed, the distribution of new memberships will begin.
