Arika Gurung, who won Nepal's historic bronze medal in the Karate-1 Premier League held in Rabat, Morocco, has returned home today.
She received a hero's welcome amidst musical honors upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Officials from the National Sports Council, Nepal Karate Federation President Yubaraj Lama, coach Kushal Shrestha, and other athletes were present to greet her. Her parents and family members also reached the airport to receive Arika.

On Sunday night in Rabat, Morocco, Arika defeated France's Clemence 6-2 in the women's +68 kg bronze medal match. Earlier, she drew 2-2 with Turkey's Zeynep Gobal and beat Italy's Clio Ferracuti 3-1.
She also tied 1-1 with Cyprus's Giamouki Theodosia drew with Spain's Maria Torres Garcia. Following her defeat against Maria Torres in the semifinals, Arika battled for the bronze medal and secured the third place in the Karate-1 Premier League.
