Police have recovered the body of a woman burning in a fire in Rupandehi on Saturday night.
The body of a 22-year-old Sirjana Pal, the spouse of Pramod Pal of Sammari Rural Municipality-5, was recovered while burning in a fire. The body was taken to the District Police Office, Rupandehi for postmortem, informed DSP Ganesh Sapkota of DPO, Rupandehi.
Last night, the body of a young woman was found burning in a fire in a field located about one kilometer away from the house," DSP Sapkota told Nepalkhabar, "The police have recovered the body from the fire and handed it over to the district hospital for postmordem.
It is yet to be ascertained whether the body was being incinerated after murder or burning herself. "The incident is suspicious," said DSP. Acting on a tip-off, a team police from District Police Office, Rupandehi reached the incident site at 2 AM today.
Sirjana and Pramod had tied the knot only one year ago. Sirjana was the 12th grader while Pramod is pursuing master's degree, according to a local. The police have arrested Pramod, his family members and some locals as part of investigation into the case.
